I am really struggling to find a straight answer anywhere - I am moving into a new build with underfloor heating throughout the groundfloor, I have a laminate flooring to install and a foam underlay, is this ok to use and if not, what do I need to use? The subfloor is wooden boards not concrete so I am assuming the correct insulation is underneath the boards but do I need to put anything else on top between the laminate and subfloor?
I have done my research and have also spoken with the supplier of my flooring and it is absolutely fine to use this on underfloor heating.
Laminate and wood floors are of of the best types of flooring to use on underfloor heating and laminate manufacturers these days have this in mind which is why it is such a good floor to use. The heat does travel up through the laminate and it does not trap any heat.
