Dear PERSON WITH DISABILITY
in answer to your question. I am doing a small survey for an IT project and want a respresentational segment of the population. Disabled people certainly do represent our world population. As to how it is related to flooring. As a former nurse and some one who has just laid two bedroom floors with laminated boards, I can see the benefit for easier movement for people in wheel chairs or other mobility problems. They are easier to keep clean as well. I would imagine that using a hoover is quite difficult if your on crutches or in a wheel chair. A disadvantage would be for people who tend to fall easily. If mobility problems causes a person to trip then carpets are not a good idea. However, rugs placed over laminate could also be dangerouse.
