I'm going to be installing laminate in my kitchen which has a concrete floor. It already has a damp proof course underneath the concrete. Currently, the floor is covered with fairly think vinyl.
Can I lay laminate flooring directly on top of this vinyl as opposed to removing it and installing the foam underlay the manufacturers recomend ? If not, why not ?
Also, ithe manufacturers recommend you lay down some form of damp proof sheeting. As I already have this under my concrete floor, do I still need this ?
Many thanks.
The concrete floor will be level as the builder put down a screed on top of the concrete floor.
Are you saying that I should put down the foam underlay ON TOP of the existing vinyl ?
