I have a 23 month old and a 2 week old (both girls). My eldest daughter Aimee decided last week that she wanted to start potty training completely out of the blue. I know she is young (ish) but she is definately ready. I have previously introduced her to the potty etc. and so she knew what it was all about.
So on Monday she insisted on being naked and as I was busy with the newborn, I just obliged and brought the potty out in the hope that we would catch the mess if possible but as we have laminate flooring I wasn't that fussed about accidents. She had no accidents, she went on the potty for a wee wee everytime. She had done her poo in her nappy earlier in the day.
Tues and Wednesday was much the same only that she also did poo's in the potty too without problem or without my help.
Then on Thursday she was also really good she had one accident when her friend came around, but after that accident she did really well again regardless of her friend still being there.
Yesterday she did excellent in the morning still naked, afternoon nap without nappy - dry, then in the afternoon I decided to introduce knickers properly, I had attempted to put them on throughout the week but she would have an accident in them.
I explained what knickers were and that they weren't like nappies and that she still needed to use the potty. She grasped it and went to the potty everytime she needed a wee but didn't do a poo yesterday.
Today = Nightmare! Day from hell!
We've had no knickers left dry and accident after accident in them, she was doing well naked again but she's also being the boy who cried wolf - usually as I am feeding Tiana my youngest. She will say she needs a wee wee to get out of the naughty corner / get out of bed / to get my attention. I'm at my wits end with her today, she has been so troublesome in more ways then one. So today, she will sit on the potty and pull her knickers down to do so and yet do nothing then poo and wee in her knickers. Naked she still seems fine but will still pretend that she needs the loo.
What should I do to get her under control with a newborn in my arms, to stop lying and to not have an accident in her knickers.
The first and especially the last issue is the most important!
Any tips, she was doing so well and I don't want this stress now with a newborn to look after and yet don't want to revert her back to nappies.
