I am having laminate floor fitted and I have a very heavy, iron framed piano. At the moment, I have pushed the piano (with difficulty) into the communal hallway until the flooring is fitted. However, I am worried about how to, or whether to move the Piano back into the flat, or whether to get house clearance person to come and collect it. I bought it from a junk shop about 10 years ago, its not in good condition and I cant play the piano anyway, but I quite like the look of it although my family says its an 'eyesore' and I should get rid of it.
Does anyone else have very heavy furniture on laminate flooring, does it damage it and how might I move this thing along the floor? The wheels dont work on it and it tends to gouge out the flooring as it moves, I dont want the new floor damaged.
thanks
I dont know that I am getting rid of it or not. I love the thought of having an old piece of furniture, but its getting to be a bit of a headache. We did have carpet under the wheels to slide it around but its so heavy that as we were pushing it, the carpet slid out from under the wheels and now we cant lift it to get the carpet back under them. oh dear....
