hi, i have a 1 year old staffy male and over the last 1-2 months he's been chewing and ripping bits of wood around my home, its only when he's left alone for more than about 2 hours.
because of work commitments me and my fiancee have to leave him on a sunday from around half 10 until about quarter past 3.
so far he's chewed around 6 peices of skirting board.(some worse than others.) we have laminate flooring and he's chewed off some of the beading around the edge. and the worst thing he's done so far is rip up a wooden door bar connecting 2 peices of laminate and chewed it to bits!( and that thing was down tight).
i dont understand we leave him with free roam of the flat excluding bedrooms. we always leave music, food,water,kong filled with peanut butter, dentastick and dog food, and plenty of toys including balls and nylabone.
if we go shopping for around 1 and half hours he's been fine its only on that sunday he's destructive.
also i always get up early and take him out for an hour on that sunday.
i am at my wits end and its causing nothing but arguements and grief.
please help.
already tried spray and he just finds something else to chew. and i didnt want to crate as he's not a small dog anymore and i would feel cruel.
