My old landlord is trying to keep my deposit for scratches on the laminate flooring.
I cannot prove if they were there before or not. I am unsure how deep these scratches are but the pictures seem to be quite excessive (dark wood flooring, bright lights on, flash on camera, scratch is white against dark).
What sort of questions should I ask in regards to trying to get this passed under fair wear and tear?
The landlord has had a quote done for the floor which has amounted to £879, however the quote is not for like for like flooring (in fact it is for an Oak flooring). Surely if I do have to pay for the floor to be replaced, I should need to see evidence of how much was paid in the first place for the flooring, labour etc (that is if he didnt do it himself).
