My daughter is 8 months old but she refuses to sit up on anything that is hard. She wont sit on the floor and if I do she just flops down onto her tummy. But she will sit up on soft things, like the sofa or bed or she will sit up in her baby bouncer. My health visitor said it is not normal and I shouldn't consider her sitting up, although I wouldn't want to sit on my floor (it is laminate, cold and hard).
Also a question about crawling, my 8mo is not interested in crawling at all and would rather stand up agains things, does this mean she might by-pass crawling? She is brilliant on her tummy and can shuffle herself across the room.
She can sit on the floor, she just refuses to, she will cry and fuss untill she makes herself go onto her tummy. She will sit for about 5 minutes before starting to fuss and then going to the tummy position. Im thinking about buying a rug for her to sit on.
Daniel's Mummy: She has been having harder bowel movements recently, I will talk to the DR about it, that could be why she hates it on the hard surfaces.
