Long story short, before I moved into the apartment someone obviously was careless and slopped fish/fish juice on the counter and left it longer than they should have/never cleaned it right. I found spots of a clear substance, used a brillo pad and released a very foul smell
yes I have tried the lemon juice, baking sodas, vinegars, odorban, even STRAIGHT bleach, no they do not take the smell out.
I read that polyurethane seals in odors. Will this do the trick? Im not concerned with it being food safe, I plan to use cutting boards. I just cant take this smell. I even purchased a fishermans soap, with no luck.
Some of the plastic top coating seems to have been removed by the bleach.... but the smell of fish persists..! Will the poly work? Thanks.
Replacement is not an option. If it was, I wouldnt be asking.
