Hi, we had a flood (natural disaster/blocked drains) in December 2008.
There were quite a few properties affected in that time but we were one of the first 'back to normal'.
After the drying certificate was issued (from one company) another company then proceeded to replace the flooring. As they started doing so, an area of the flooring started to lift so they replaced it straight away. Not long after the work was completed, the floor (laminate) started lifting & bowing in various areas around the home.
It has now been a roller coaster of blame on the people who issued the drying certificate, the people who laid the flooring, the product and now after all this time a defect in the floor!
We have had countless people in our house measuring, testing coming to conclusions, telling us work to rectify the problem will commence, changing their mind and then changing the people and departments of who is dealing with our issue.
Overall the tests that have been done has pointed to the fact that the floor was still wet and that it wasn't laid properly, but then time goes by and we're always chasing people up to find out what's going on and get told someone else is on the case then we have to start all over again.
Sorry I've tried to cut a long story short but work was supposed to commence in Jan 2010, then Jan 2011 and we're still here with the same frustrating problem.
Would you recommend we take this up with the insurance ombudsman? any advise would be much appreciated, thanks for reading x
