I need to acoustically isolate my electronic drums and I need some help?

Laminate Floors - affordable alternative to the hard wood flooring.

To start with I studied music tech at uni so understand the principles of acoustic isolation but I'm struggling to get this to work. My ELECTRONIC drum kit is in my loft conversion currently sitting on top of 70mm of chipboard which is resting on top of a sheet of laminate underlay (designed to stop foot fall transferring) and about 10-12mm of rubber matting. My thinking was that the chipboard acts as a dense floor which i isolated from th rest of the structure by the rubber and the underlay. Its failing miserably! In the rooms below you just get just the lowest frequencies but its louder there that in the loft! Any ideas on what else I can try would be really appreciated.

Just to make it really clear I am talking about an electronic drum kit and it is the sound of hitting it that is the problem (as opposed to having the amp up too high)
