Hey guys, I bought my very first pair of skates two days ago. I think i'm making decent progress. I can stand on them by myself (and walk around on nearly every surface) I have been practising inside the house (because i'm so embarrassed to make a fool of myself in public :P) Tonight I decided to take it to a whole new level and begin skating outside. While skating on the rough jaggedy concrete I noticed a few things;
1) My arms flail around.
2) I tend to lose control of the speed once i've began skating and if i don't slow myself down i instantly fall. (DX)
3) after a while my ankle get abit red and irritated.
4) sometimes i can't skate atall on the concrete when i try rolling nothing happens.
5) I get embarrassed flailing around at the park or outside my house, I don't want to look like A failure :c.
Can you guys give me advice on how to skate or where to skate? Is concrete the next step up from grass/ laminated flooring? How do I stop the uncontrollable flailing of arms when i begin to lose balance?
Another thing i forgot to mention was I foolishly went into the store and bought the cool looking skates i saw. Turns out they were "aggressive In-line skates" With no breaks, how do i break I read about doing the T break but I'm not sure how to do it.
