Recently I have had half a dozen huge (~2 inch) spiders appearing in the living-room and hallway over the past week or so. I call them 'robots'. I'm terrified from them; my impulse is to 'run' but I have to kill it or I will not be able to enter the room again; just knowing its hiding somewhere. I clean the house as thoroughly as I can and I have laminate flooring throughout the house. I also use an ultrasonic/electromagnetic repellent, but does not seem to help much. My questions are:
(a) How are they able to grow to 2" leg span without seeing them previously?
(b) Where are they hiding at night and in the daytime?
(c) Why do you never see them sitting in a web?
(d) What have they been eating to grow to that size?
(e) How long does it take to grow to full size?
(f) Where do they mate?
(g) How many eggs can one female lay in one episode & its lifetime?
(h) Anyone have any positive results on using an ultrasonic/electromagnetic repellent? ; if so can you recommend the model in the UK.
