We have a badly scarred laminate floor in the main room of the house & that room is also always very cold.We want to have carpet professionally laid plus a good underlay but dread the thought of having to remove the laminate first, mainly because it was not put down well by the people we bought our house from so are dubious about getting it up cleanly. Can carpet & underlay be put straight on top of laminate & should we be aware of any potential problems in doing so ? We do accept that the door heights may need adjusting to rise over the increased thickness. It is assumed that there is concrete under the laminate but not yet investigated
