Dont know whether it's a leak..btw I have no insurance (!)?

Laminate Floors - affordable alternative to the hard wood flooring.

I noticed signs of the leak when the laminate in the sitting area start bubbling up, starting from the door leading to the Bathroom. There was evidence to believe that pipe leading to the Boiler (boiler located close to the bathroom entrance door) was leaking. Under the tiles and concrete lay a network of pipes leading to the boiler. A tiny hole was found in a copper pipe. It was estimated that water was slowly trickling under the concrete for at least 6 months hence the damage to the laminate, buckets of water were retrieved from the ground. The plumber then fixed the pipe and laid down sand cement to cover the hole under the boiler. The damaged Quickstep Laminate and Timbermate underlay which had soaked through was discarded.

5 weeks after the leak, concrete floor in sitting area seemed dry (skylights directly above helped a lot). I had a new floor with new Timbermate underlay laid down.

4 days ago it was merely 2 weeks after the new floor being laid; the floor seemed unlevel in certain places. Ripped plank out and same thing occurred again, but not drenched or soaked like last time but damp/steam like. New Laminate has been saved but new underlay now in thrash.
We then broke though the concrete on the floor (under the boiler) and exposed all the pipes leading to the boiler in that area. The sand that was placed in initial leak was damp and wet in a few places, but there were spots of dry sand there too. The sand in the hole beneath the Boiler is still quite damp.

Can?t figure out what to do, I couldn?t afford the Insurance after the problem the first time was remedied and naively assumed it won?t come back. Don?t know need to wait longer, if so how much longer? I don?t know whether it?s a losing battle because of the damp proof membrane sitting at the bottom of the concrete (in my sitting area) which is prohibiting the trapped water from drying? Perhaps? Today is day 4; I haven?t seen any trickling water come from anywhere, despite using hot and cold water frequently. No obvious wet spots on concrete, the concrete in the sitting area looks very yellowish (damp) in the areas closer to the Boiler.

I will really appreciate any kind of advice you can offer

Many thanks

Sarah
