Does the cleanliness of a foster carers house not really matter in the whole process?
I have a friend who is applying to be a foster carer and gets her decision from the panel in April. She is a nice girl, if a little loud and brash. But her flat is disgusting, it is filthy throughout and in a poor decorative state. A few examples are,
*Her laminate flooring was fitted badly by her ex and there is a gap of about half a cm between the laminate and the wall, the gaps are full of dust and dirt that has collected and never been cleaned away.
*Her dog has not been spayed, and when it comes into season drips blood all over the place, including her (my friends) bed where she sleeps!!!
*Her oven and kitchen is filthy.
*Her garden is overgrown and full of *** ends.
*If she drops something, she just leaves it there, there are tissues just dropped everywhere and clothes/towels all over the place.
Like she is a nice girl, and I feel bad for saying all of this. But I just cannot believe that social services would take a kid out of a bad environment and put it in a dirty dirty filthy one. Do you think she will get accepted?
I also don't like her motives, she is doing it so that she can leave her current job and claim the benefits she will be entitled to instead.
An example of how dirty her kitchen is, is that she feeds her cat up on the work surface!!!
The reason i ask if cleanliness doesn't matter is that she is this far through the process (and is fully expecting to pass) and they haven't stopped it. Does it have to go to the panel or would they stop it sooner if there were concerns over the cleanliness.
She doesn't smoke, but her brother does when he comes round, the *** ends are all in the garden, no smoking in the house
