my daughter refuses to sleep in her cot or anywhere but me and my partners bed, shes almost a year old and its making us have a difficult nights sleep because she fidgets so much and takes up half the bed. as much as i love cuddling up to her i just want my bed back and weve tried everything to get her to sleep in her cot again but she will just scream and cry and i hate seeing her cry. it started when she was around 6 months old when we moved house and its been a big mistake as now we cant break the habit. i heard about the crying out method and after trying everything else we decided one night would be worth a try but everytime we left the room she would stand up and bang and shake the cot bars and would not stay laying down whatever i tried, and each time i picked her up to lay her back down she would scream really loud and cry and i just gave up straight away, im losing so much sleep that im too tired to try anything else which i know isnt good but it seems like whatever i do isnt going to work shes very determined to stay in the bed. another thing that concerns me is that our house is very cold as the floors downstairs are laminate flooring and there is a draft coming from our loft and my daughter sometimes has a cold face or hands during the night wich i think may be contributing her to restlessness but we keep her covered and wearing warm clothes and she still wakes up, so is this by habit or is she genuinely cold and feels the bed is warmer and moe comfortable. just to add her cot is still in our bedroom near us so its not like shes in a room by herself, but we are in the middle of doing her bedroom so we can get her used to sleeping in it. sorry its got quite long but im driving myself mental over it and would appreciate some advice from parents who have been in this position before. thanks.
