We're just about to move into a new-build flat which is completely bare - concrete walls and floors in all but the bathroom. We're only renting so I don't want to spend loads of money on plastering etc. Would it be OK to paint or paper directly onto the concrete walls? What kind of paint would you use? Would you need to prepare the surface somehow first? And for the floors, can we lay the laminate directly on the concrete or do we have to put some kind of underlay?
