There is a very thin thight weave carpet in a bedroom.,this carpet is sitting on old uneven floorboards. the carpet has leveled out the surface but we want to replace the carpt now.I have some laminate leftover from a job I did before and was wondering if this "thin weave carpet " would act as an underlay. I have gotten different opinions from different people. Laminate will be a cleaner option for this small room just curious as to what beople think ?
just to say I have taken the majority view here .and removed the carpet as recommended...along with a van load of furniture !! The original floorboards.wernt that bad at all.. managed to get 75 percent done in about 2 hours. Another hour tomorrow evening and then a little time fitting new skirting boards
and a little bit of beading and all will be grand for" her return"...Brownie Points for me again I hope ! Thanks once again guys and Gals
